Maybe it was the flights to and from columbus, maybe it was my mom's cold, maybe it was my 1/2 day of school... we may never know for sure, but I do know that I never again want to have an ear infection and a new molar coming in at the same time. It's nothing but pain and misery - for me and mom & dad. It started over the weekend with lot of green boogers, then came a hacking cough and a temperature of 101 that spurred mom and dad to make an appointment for me at the doctor. Then came the diagnosis, an ear infection. Get her on antibiotics and get her plenty of fluids and rest.
Okay, so honestly, this ear infection thing wasn't too bad. I did get a really high fever - like 104 that woke me up in the middle of the night on Monday & Tuesday, but then my fever broke and I felt great all day Wednesday. Until Wednesday night when my molar began pushing though - do you know what that feels like? To have this giant tooth trying to push its way into your tiny mouth - and you have no idea what's really happening to you? I couldn't eat, I couldn't drink, I couldn't sleep, I wouldn't take tylenol, I couldn't do anything but scream in pain, fall asleep for about 20 minutes at a time on mom or dad, then wake up screaming again the second I felt them try to put me down in my crib... why would they try to make me face this alone? There was no way I was going to let them out of my site during my time of need. Finally they got the idea and just threw me into bed with them (and the ipod) where I watched bubble guppies until I finally passed out from 5am - 9am.
It still wasn't all better in the morning... Mom was able to actually catch my last episode on tape. It's not pretty, but it's real people.
Poor mom & dad, imagine this all night long, seriously, all night long (sorry guys, but thanks for sticking with me, I love you!). After this final release though, I was done, and went on to be a normal person again. I took a good long nap and then went to bed at 7:30 - and slept all through the night - till 9:00. Ah, sweet sleep, finally. And my molar is in... but I heard it's only the first of 4 that will come in this year. I guess if it only lasts 1 night I should thank my lucky stars... but it would be better if the next 3 just magically appeared instead. Here's to hoping!
