Grandma Fran Arrives!

I'm feeling much better after my traumatizing day yesterday, I slept great and woke up to Grandma Fran! Grandma Fran arrived today from Texas and we've already had an exciting day. First, we went to lunch with my boyfriend Joey and his grandma at Toast. It was yummy and Joey and I got to stare at each other while the grandma's and my mom hung out.

Then we got home and mom put me in the "torture chair" this new tummy time mat thing that is elevated and suppose to be good for my development. I'm not sure I like it yet. I look slightly ridiculous in it...

Anyway, it tires me out. Thankfully, Grandma Fran is here to take me off of it, feed me, and put me to sleep!

2 Months!

I made it! I'm officially 2 months old today! You'd think I'd be getting presents and a party but no, it was a pretty bleak day. First, I was extremely disappointed when Grandma and Grandpa didn't show up today! I didn't realize last night was my last night with them till February! Look at all the good times we had...

Ah, it was so much fun and then they were gone. And instead of celebrating my 2 months, mom and dad took me to the doctor! I'm not a big fan of the doctor, they are always prodding and poking me and this time was no exception. First, I had to get on the cold hard scale. Apparently I weigh 8lbs 13 oz, which puts me just on the curve of about the 5th - 10th percentile of all babies. If I had been born on time though I would be in the 25th percentile, but who says being average is better? My head is in the 50th percentile already though -  so I must have gotten mom and dad's big brains!

Anyway, it wasn't too bad until they brought out the needles! Shots! I had to get shots! 2 shots! Giving me those tiny bandaids with heart stickers does not make up for the pain caused by that nurse! What were mom & dad thinking? I do not need to be protected from whatever it was I had to get those shots for! I was so upset I decided not to play with mom the rest of the day and slept. Thanks a lot!

Bushpa & Bushma

Grandma and Grandpa Roudabush arrived last night and have already been taking great care of me! This afternoon we walked to potbelly's for some lunch and then Mom left us to go get her nails done (must be nice!) - I was so happy to spend the afternoon with them though I didn't care.  Bushpa & Bushma are the best!

CPOG and Playdates

I'm getting out more and more these days! On Monday I went with Mom & Dad and their friends Katie & Derek to Chicago Pizza & Oven Grinders (CPOG) - an amazing restaurant, my dad's favorite in fact. I had fun chillin in the booth while they ate the world famous mediterranean bread and pizza pot pies! (Pictures to come soon)...

Then on Tuesday I had a play date with Shalee & Ella and Beth & Henry. I pretty much slept through the play date (surprise surprise) but my mom had fun talking to other adults.

Daddy got home late on Tuesday and tried to change the channel I was watching... not cool dad! The remote is mine!

Today I took a walk over to my friend Joey's for lunch. His grandma was babysitting him so my mom hung out with her. I'm back home now and heading down for another nap. Sleep is so great!

Bowling!

Last night I had my first really big night out - I went to a bowling alley! Chris, my friend Joey's dad, was having a 30th birthday party and all the kids got to come too. Dad took charge of keeping score, as it was old school manual scoring and Mom mostly kept an eye on me. I slept though most of it and then got passed around for the last hour as everyone took turns bowling! It was a pretty exciting night!

visitors again!

Kam and his girlfriend Anushka came over tonight with India House for dinner. Mom & Dad love that chicken tikka marsala, I bet I'll love it when I'm older too! I had a lot of fun hanging out with them, they thought I was soooo cute!

Rolling Over...

I'm still not quite sure how I do this, but I can occasionally roll over. I just get so mad being on tummy time I flip over!

I'm Not 8lbs Anymore...

After we got home from the doctor I finally got a little relief in the form of a few massive poopy diapers! Mom thinks I must have dropped at least 1/2 a pound. It was so much she had to give me a bath, which I enjoyed... maybe I'll have to do that more often!

8lbs

WOO HOO!

Mom and Dad took me to the doctor today and I finally made it to 8lbs! That means I gained 10oz in 7 days! Way beyond the hoped for 1oz a day! I rock!

Day of Discovery...

Today I did a lot of playing on my jungle mat... I just love to discover myself in the mirror.

Also, I just discovered these funny little things hanging on my bouncy seat! I guess they've been there all along, but they are just so interesting to me now!

Tuckered out

After all that crying I had a nice quite day of sleeping (in 3 different outfits because I did manage to spit up on myself after every feeding)...

Sometimes you just gotta...

Cry!

Adventures in Evanston

Sorry I didn't write yesterday but I was still recuperating from my big night out!  On Monday Mom took me in the car all the way up to Evanston! We went to a party at Dave & Allie's (see pictures from last friday) to watch the national championship. I had a great time hanging out with everyone and getting held - my favorite thing to do. The game wasn't too bad either, I was cheering for Auburn so I'm glad they won! Here's a picture of me with some of the guys at the party....

Yesterday was a little rough because I was so tired from the other night, but we still had fun. Today I was talking a lot when I was playing on my jungle mat - Grandpa Stoltz and Grandma Nancy both got to say hi to me! Here's a preview

Today, I had my first baby sitter too! Marie came over to watch me so Mom could go to the doctor's visit (she checked out okay for everything!). I was a perfect angel for her of course! I was a little gassy when Mom and Dad got home then and I had to be burped a lot during my next feeding. I hate trying to burp, but at the same time I love it when it actually happens!!

Oh and I also got this great handmade blanket from our friends Ryan & Allie, I love it!

Wild Woman

Check out the awesome new jungle mat my mom got me! Apparently she's had it since I came home but she didn't give it to me till now! Unbelievable because I LOVE it! It has a mirror on it and a monkey, and a parrot, and these leaves that move and krinkle... it's sweet!

Also check out how sweet my dad looks in his new suit

Too bad he wouldn't hold me while he was wearing it - he was afraid i would spit up on him. He's probably right. You'll notice that I will have a bib on in every picture after this. Spitting up is awesome!

Okay, that's enough pictures of me today, this mat is exhausting and I have to gear up for tonight. I'm heading up to Evanston with Mom to meet Dad at a party! Hey, how come daddy hasn't bought me a northwestern t-shirt yet???

Kickin' it old School

went to the doctor's office today to get weighed... I came in at a Hefty 7lbs 6oz. Mom & Dad wanted me to be at 7lbs 11oz, but I'm still okay. We left a note for the doctor to be sure, but haven't heard back yet. I also spit up a lot more, so we added that to the note.

I got to wear my awesome old school LaCoste onesie to the doctor's office - itsn't it cool!? It was my moms! It even has a collar I can pop! After the doctor Mom & Dad took me to Toast for brunch and everyone thought I was soooo cute  : )

Also, Mom bought me these new black and white books that I love. I can follow them with my eyes and they are so exciting to look at!

Then tonight we had visitors! Dave, who Jason goes to school with, and his wife, Allie, brought us chicken pot pies and had dinner with us. I was a total delight and was smiling and happy the whole time. A huge turn around from yesterday night when I cried for 4 hours!

Allie also gave us some good tips too - we're going to have a lot of fun activities from now on. We can have bouncy seat time, then side lying time, then tummy time, then jungle mat time, then movement time, then massage time, then book reading time, then swing time, then bedtime! Till I get up to eat and do it all over again. I wonder who will be more tired after all that; mom or me?!

It's a hoot...

Do you like my owl outfit?

Guess what? My furniture finally came! I have a room now! It only took them 6 weeks to get everything delivered and set up. Now all my mom needs to do is decorate...

A new bow...

We took a walk to our friend Katie & Joey's today! Katie's mom, Pat Buffalino, was also there and she gave me a cute outfit and this adorable bow for my hair! I love getting presents!

Lazy Mornings...

I love lazy mornings with Mom & Dad the best. When I'm lucky, I get to snuggle in the grown up bed with them before we all have to get up and start our day...

My new hat...

I think it's a little too big right now, but hopefully I'll grow into it!

Family Photo Time...

Today, I got to put on my fancy vest again for our family photo! Uncle Bill and Aunt Sandy were nice enough to drive into the city to meet me and hang out for a while too.

Burping..

I'm not really sure I like this whole burping thing! Give me back my bottle!

Hot Dog!

Today I got all dressed up to go to a fancy breakfast with Mom & Grandma Fran. Unfortunately, all the fancy places were jam packed! There was no room for me and my giant stroller, so we ended up at George's for hot dogs, which I think mom & grandma were secretly excited about. I'm not really sure what a hot dog is, but they sure seemed happy - I can't wait to try one for myself one day!

Bundled Up!

Even though it's like -40 degrees here I still love to go on walks with Mom and Dad. Bucktown is a pretty cool place, and I love stopping in Hot Chocolate to get some Hot Chocolate! Plus, don't you just love our matching hats...

After our walks I like to get all snuggley with my lovey!

1 Month!

It's hard to believe our little nugget is already a month old! Time really does fly, but we are enjoying each day to the fullest. She is constantly changing and developing her own little personality. In fact she informed us today that she would like to take over all blog posting responsibilities. And since Mom can't seem to keep up, I think it's a great idea. So from now on, you'll be getting somewhat daily, definitely weekly, blog updates directly from Kate. Hope you enjoy!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Can you guess what our favorite present was this year?

We had a lot of fun playing with Kate on Christmas! Thanks to everyone for her many wonderful Christmas outfits! She looks so festive and fun!

I think we make a pretty cute little family...

And believe it or not, we actually did stay up until midnight on New Year's Eve!

Week 4...

There is certainly never a dull moment around this place!

My dad & our dog, Maggie, flew in on Saturday and we've had fun introducing Kate to the K-9 world. Maggie is very good with her and mostly just likes to smell her. I'm not sure she's figure out what to do with her just yet....

It's nice having our parents so close, walking over to their pad takes maybe 5 minutes and it's nice to get out of our apartment a little more. Despite the cold weather we've been taking a lot of walks lately. Good thing the stroller has shocks on it so it can handle all the packed snow and ice we have to navigate on the sidewalks and streets! It's a somewhat bumpy ride but Kate never complains, how could you complain when you look so cute?

Our weeks are pretty lazy as Kate is still doing a lot of sleeping. She's getting a little fuzzy around 7 or 8pm each night, but all in all we can't really complain. She's a happy kid!
